دکتر اکرم عثمان، نویسنده، محقق، و رئیس کلوب قلم افغان‌ها در سویدن ( کلوب فرهنگی فردا) ، یکی از گوهرهای تابناک ادب و فرهنگ افغانستان بود که با نثر فصیح و بینش عمیق خویش، تصویری روشن از دردها، آرزوها، و زنده گی مردم این سرزمین را به زیبایی به قلم کشید. آثار او، از داستان‌های کوتاه تا رمان‌ها و پژوهش‌های تاریخی، نه تنها بازتاب‌دهنده‌ی واقعیت‌های تلخ جامعه‌اش بودند، بلکه به نسل‌های بعدی انگیزه‌ای برای جستجو و درک عمیق‌تر هویت خویش بخشیدند. درگذشت دکتر اکرم عثمان در ۱۱ اگست ۲۰۱۶ در سویدن، ضایعه‌ای بزرگ برای فرهنگ و ادب افغانستان به شمار می‌رود. او رفت، اما یادش در دل‌ها جاویدان ماند و آثار گران‌قدرش همچنان چراغ راهِ اهل فرهنگ و هنر است.
